Nice color for daylily. We just had our plant swap. It was busy , hot day and we had good turnout. I ended up with 3 bags full of daylilies from church project when cleaning after event.

Cept I have no clue how church worded donation ask... Now am thinking should I try growing them because at least some may be named varieties?

Where did you get Confused Angel from? I've been looking for it for several years without any luck. We have only had a few showers and right now we need to water since it's hot and plants are drying out rapidly. I've got a ton of annuals on my drive which need to be planted asap.

Miles, I haven’t bought any annuals yet. I usually pot coleus with trailing sweet potatoe vines and some geraniums. Last year I also bought two fan flower hanging baskets and cut the hangers off and set them set them in the larger pots that they fit in. That’s the lazy way, I know…..🤭

I am waiting for 4 more hostas, 2 Huecheras and echinacea.

Today I’m shopping for paint for the bathroom. The tile work is done. He’s starting to put the shower fixtures in. The door for the shower has arrived so we have to schedule a delivery. Also, the sink we purchased on Etsy, still has not arrived. There has been a problem between the maker and Amazon who ships the sink. We are probably going to cancel the order. This has been going on for a month now.
Original ETA was April 16th.

No it isn’t…..banging, crashing, dust, dust and more dust, drilling, loss of our only shower for a month now

I hate wet toes. And crocks do not help. I also have geese and my yard is like a land mine. I have been working on keeping them out. My son has tried to hand feed them. Like walking upstream at Niagara Falls.

I have been moving. I have a storage unit and the raise in rent was insane. I am bringing back fun stuff, but a lot is getting donated.

The rain has been avoiding me. It comes up to west Florida but then goes north or just dissipates over water.

Whoever asked about the Slinkey and birdfeeders. It does not work. The squirrels and gravity will stretch it out and then they will use it as a rope ladder. I am sorry I forgot who it was, but it was a while ago.

Everyone's hosta are looking great. Remember to get photos. I am wiped out I am headed to the recliner. More to move tomorrow. Ugh

Paula..some stems were goners and I had to remove them..I propped up one that was leaning behind a good stem..I left it for a day then tested it and it could stand on it’s own!..it made me happy..

The sink—- we were actually on the phone with the maker and the doorbell rang. It turns out the wrong address was on the label and it was delivered to a neighbor who now at the door with the box. Unbelievably funny! So, that’s all straightened out now! 🤭👏🏽

I went to the annual Tulip Festival in my area. It's always a really nice day.

It's not that big, but I like the look of this Ivory Queen.

June Fever is lighting up this area.

I thought my Riviera Sunset was lost, but this is what came back this year. I have such a bad track record when it comes to potting up to rescue hostas. What are the odds it will make it if I let it be? Have you ever had one come back this small and make it?

A little late to the party here but have been a little busy here with annuals and veggies. I did get the border of white impatients planted in my new hosta bed.

I've bought 6 - 48 count flats of annuals & 15 4 1/2" pots of various annuals. Now to get them all in the ground and planters.

Going right now to the farmer's market to get a few vegetable plants to plant in my raised beds.

Hostas are mostly looking real good right now. Yes Paula time to get some pictures.

Looks like we are all busy-busy-busy. Looking forward to when the work is mostly done and just sit back and enjoy it with a cup of coffee or cold drink.

Sandyslopes, my Dream Queen was growing nicely, but now has diminished. Another one who needs digging up and maple roots removed. In the old bathroom we had a rather dark ugly patterned army green with another awful green mixed in color. It was dark. I had wallpapered the nook with the toilet in light green grass cloth and painted it in a light gold color. 😝

So, I really want to lighten the room, so am looking at light gray colors to match coloring in the floor and trim tiles. So neutral is what I want. I will post pictures here when it’s all done. The shower doors came today and our sink came yesterday, finally! It turns out that it was delivered to a neighbor’s house as the address was wrong. Whatever, we love it!

I've been battling smilax vines, ugh. I started last summer; this spring I've already made two rounds of painting the leaves and stems with weed killer. That just prompts them to send up new shoots, sometimes quite aggressively. It's whack-a-mole.

sandyslopes..yes our poison ivy rashes are gone 🙂..from now on the minute I see poison ivy I’ll get gloves and rip it out!..

I couldn’t believe how my hydrangea was the target for that limb 😢..after cutting off the damage it looks better than I thought it would..the tulip festival looked beautiful..

old_dirt..I bought maybe a third of the annuals you bought and they’re still unplanted..your garden will be beautiful..

Paula, you reminded me how I did NOT pot up Remember Me and now mine is but a memory. This thumbnail sized Riviera Sunset is taking up some good territory, so even if it’s signing its death warrant, I will probably pot it. I’ll do my best not to over water, which I think has been my problem. I lost OM, too! That and a couple of its relatives dwindled away when others around them did fine.

Debra, I chose agreeable gray (Sherwin Williams) when we finished our basement. It’s a lighter colored neutral, and I like it. That’s great your neighbor brought the sink over. I’ve had people keep my misdelivered packages several times now. ☹

Well, it's rained and it's rained and it's rained this spring. The rivers and creeks are overflowing. It's reached the point that every prediction of rain includes flood warnings. All of this after 54 days last summer of 100 degree heat and no rain. This is Texas. That saying about "if you don't like the weather, wait a while and it will change" is certainly true here.

I just looked outside and last night's storm blew over my Guacamole and the mulch is starting to mold from so much rain. The hosta are loving the rain and high humidity. I need to get my photos while they are so lush.

Again, as my dear old Grandmother used to say, "It's an ill will that blows no good".

Being late and catching up on 3 pages of garden web posts. Spent last week in Ogden, Utah on business. The week(end) before in Niagara Falls on vacation. Fortunately, we've had enough rain I haven't worried about the garden overly much. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to keep up with the weeds, although, I am trying. My son had to pot up an online order I couldn't postpone. The order I could postpone doesn't look like its coming this week - bummer, as it would've come last week and I'm tired of waiting. Got a different order on the way and one other order up in the air. Looks like I'm losing the battle against the Maple tree roots this year as I'm potting up quite a few struggling Hosta and considering renovating an entire bed. I'm finding some of my spin-out bags infiltrated with roots, but no sign of entry. Other ones do have sign of entry. And buying locally and planting other plants like Clematis, Lilies, Salvia . . . . Quite a few areas are looking really good and I'm looking forward to getting back out there this weekend.

Steve, you've had a lot more rain than us. It seems the rain goes south of Cleveland. Central and southern Ohio have had a lot. My hostas are much larger this year, I think we had a milder winter and that seems to have been good for them. I have given up on planting anywhere near my maples. I have to move a King of the Woods which gets smaller every year. We have 2-3 hostas in pots within spinout bags, when we had part of the yard dug up to fix a pipe 2 years ago, the maple roots didn't penetrate the bags. They have been in the bags 6-8 years. We have a driveway full of annuals to pot up this weekend, however, we have to weed several beds which are overgrown. The spiderwort are everywhere, including under the Japanese maple, guess they can compete with the maple roots.

Where do you guys get your spin out bags?

I don't know anywhere that still carries them.

I saw a website called Hostaplantingbags.com that appears to be active. It's not where I got mine from 10 years ago but I think they are similar. I also put my plants in black plastic nursery pots and then in the bags. You put the hosta in the pot, then turn the bag inside out and put the pot in the bag. It's a ;lot of work but mine have been in the ground for 10 years and the red maple 20 feet away has not penetrated the bags. The roots are around them but didn't go inside the bags. I know this because a plumbing group had to do extensive digging in the area to install new drainage pipes and we saw what was there. 2 years ago. We had the plumbing group rip out the roots but I'm sure they are back again. Good Luck!

Miles, the bags are plastic? How does water drain out of the pots and into the ground if there’s a plastic barrier? What am I missing?

Nope, mine are a felt type of material. I will have to find a couple I still have around and take a picture. The pots are just nursery pots with holes at the bottom. In the hard clay in my yard, it's a major problem to dig a whole big enough for the bag. Let me see what I can find.
