I’m thinking that in the first set of chairs, that high slope arm piece is not very ergonomic. I don’t like sloping arms at all, but higher seems worse.

@marmiegard_z7b I understand.. I did look in stores but there is nothing like this… well I was able to find a black aluminum table, but no chairs (I would like tan chairs because the table and railing are black; otherwise I would like a wood-toned aluminum table but it's even harder to find…). That's why I resorted to online :(

Is there enough room to accommodate a dining set if you still have a sofa and chairs?

I would probably go for a solid tabletop (instead of slats) just so stuff can sit properly on it.

We did try the round table but we had to go too small. The wicker matches the sofa and dark finish the deck. Here’s what we ended up with:

I would like to add a rug under the table though but have not been able to find one in the right size (6x9) in a more neutral colour scheme.

They seem to be quite similar. However, I'll also vote for you. Otherwise, it would indeed be very difficult to make a choice.

They are both so similar that I think either one would work well.

Go with wrought iron. Aluminum is cheap looking and does not hold up (same for composite sets popular today).

I see LOTS of free cheapo patio sets on craigslist being given away free. Go with something that will last many decades and not need to be given away in a few years.

I do not like either set in the choices to vote - both look cheapo. Minimize the black - go with natural warm colors.

I love the wicker set already there.
