Chad, thank you for sharing the pics. It looks like a labor of love. I’ve got a lot of questions:

    1. Are you in the Midwest?
    2. When did you start planting?
    3. Is that a fastigiate Ginkgo and Picea omorika’Pendula Bruns’ in pic #5?
    4. What is your favorite pic?
    5. What conifer are you currently in search of?

Hi maackia, a question before answering yours. What do you consider your most favorite, must have conifer?

    1. Yes, S.E. Wisconsin.

    2. I first planted a basic Picea pungens (which I would never buy today) in 2014, but really started collecting ~2016.

    3. Yes, Gingko biloba ’Elmwood’ and it probably draws the most attention from visitors. Though narrow in form, it tries to grow a bit laterally and is pruned annually. It’s hard to tell from the washed out color of the pic, but the other tree is an Iseli Picea abies ‘Gold Drift’.

    4. That’s a tough question, so I’ll just say that my current fav out of all is ’Gold Drift’ and a close 2nd is ’Bush’s Lace’.

    5. I am and have been searching for Picea abies ’Claudine’, but this one may elude me…

It's impressive what you've done in eight years. It looks like your property adjoins a wetland, which gives you even more options. No bald cypress?

I tend to want what I can't have, so a few conifers I covet are Dwarf Hinoki Cypress, Umbrella Pine, and Skylands Oriental Spruce. I've tried all, but winters up here are just a bit too harsh for them. Have you tried Umbrella Pine?

Thanks! I have just planted a ’Peve Minaret’ this spring… Fingers crossed it‘s hardy enough. Also planted a ’Gold Rush’ Dawn Redwood this

spring and still have a ‘Schirrmann‘s Nordlicht‘ to plant.

I can relate, all attempts at growing Hinokis fail after the first winter regardless of where I place them (sheltered vs exposed), a Joe Kozey umbrella pine failed after about 4 years and my Skylands got destroyed by deer.

Oh my goodness these are all spectacular even before that sweet fawn! Quick question, what is this one?

nnmjdklil - that’s a sedum, maybe Sedum acre ’Aureum’.
