Bought a stencil (moroccan repeat design) online, to do just going up the stairs at daughter's house. It will be a sublte beige over white on one wall only. Most of the wall is not visible from the living room, just about 3 feet or so of it.

Her rug is a raspberry sort of red/light cranberry. Her sofa and loveseat are a grey tweed. Thought I knew what I was going to use for curtains that will be on the wall that is 90degrees away from stencil and about 5 feet away, but now I don't know. I guess I should keep it solid, no print. what do you think?

I would probably use a solid, or a tone on tone in a very subtle texture or pattern that reads as solid. :)

We really like this fabric a lot. Might use it in her office. She likes this motif, same as me! If it weren't for the stencil, it would be in the living room.

It's a mystery! Not really, if we put it upstairs, it may be done in dark blue grey or charcoal. My son gets to pick and he wants it dark.

Yes, the stencil can be the charcoal or even a kettle black color. Can't get any darker than that

Dark bedding, but there has to be a couple of lighter pops. White, dove gray, something like that.

hi all, just checking in. been busy but haven't had much to post. attended 2 small parties over the wknd. did fairly well at yard sales.met a friend for lunch and treasure hunting sat. afternoon. since then it's been trips to HD and lowes and the paint store. yard work. guest bath is almost finished. porch floor is finally sealed so i can start moving furniture out. IDK where the time goes.

whew. GC and his helper just left for a few days out of town. i have a long list of things to do while they're away. probably won't put much of a dent in it!

michele, thanks for asking about the porch. dyeing the patio curtains didn't work out. did it in the machine. followed directions. they came out sort of minty/light blue-ish rather than bright turquoise. boo.hiss. yuk. i'll keep an eye out for a great deal and just live without them in the meantime. fall will be here soon and new cool weather clothes are calling my name.

candace, IDK why some of these posters are so anxious to argue. consider the source. i am getting annoyed with the posters advertising their businesses. once in awhile is okay but wholesale posting is just obnoxious.

Mo, that's a big disappointment, I was hoping it would work out well, wonder if you tried dye a few times in a row , if it would strengthen the color. I'm a little worried about my navy blue dye for outdoor cushions, might be a bust too.
Wish the people who get such delight out of baiting others would just disappear. Asses. Such a waste of time.
