This is why sectionals are my least favorite furniture pieces. Cuts off too many options. Have you tried flipping it so you have a seat looking toward dining nook? Otherwise, 80-84” sofa with two chairs, one on each end, will be most functional.

As an experiment, remove the corner piece and position the two leftover pieces facing each other (perpendicular to the fireplace). That will help you see how a different couch configuration will look.

Remove the corner section, attach the two seated section to the other two seater section and get rid of the corner piece or stick it in a corner somewhere. Otherwise the sectional is not working in this space. As Flo Mangan suggested, getting an 80" to 84" couch would be better. Best wishes.

BTW- I have a sectional with a chaise that my husband insisted he wanted. Until we got it. Now he doesn’t want to sit on it and resumed using his tight back recliner. So the chaise in a corner, facing the other parts of the sectional. And it actually looks much better!

Separate the pieces of your sectional and play around with different ideas. It will help you decide what, if any, new couch you would prefer.
