We need a to scale floor plan showing every window and for sure that post with every measurement clearly marked . Use feet and inches you are on a US site. Waht purpose does the prep kitchen serve?

Don’t remove the wall. It is really harming the storage and flow of the space.

I can't imagine any beam will be deep enough to really obstruct your view. A beam will eliminate the post and maximize the possibilities for your kitchen design.

I agree with rapp as to size but I use steel beams in most cases where walls are removed . I do how ever need that to scale drawing the ones you posted reall make no sesne without measurements and why moving the FP all over ?

When I discussed removing a wall dividing my dining room and living room they didn't provide options of placing supports here or there. The support had to line up with the appropriate beams in the ceiling, so I am not sure that you will be able to place a post at the end of the island or if it will need to be where the wall is being removed.

Before and after plans with a list of the things you are trying to correct are helpful if you want to get really good advice.

The design as a whole is not good. Start over with what the bones of the home's layout was before you precipitously starting removing things that shouldn't be removed.

Whatever you do, don’t do the lone support beam in the middle of the room thing. Never looks good, and a hallmark of the thoughtless pursuit of open concept. Not against opening things up, just make it look intentional.

There is a big backlash against open concept, precisely because of terriblly thoughtless and poorly planned remodels like this. Why on earth would you do demo without a full design plan and engineer’s report in place??? Put the wall back before your house falls in on you. Geesh . This is why hou never buy a house that homeowners DIY ”improved” it. Ruined it and tanked the value is more like it.
