Place some mouse traps on the ground near the base of the plants and use peanut butter for bait. Do this at dusk to avoid ants.

I caught them very easily but it was too late as they had pulled down nearly all of the berries before I got around to checking the bushes.

I do have a bush that wasn't touched but it is in a different location and I wonder if it is because there is no long grass nearby and that is why the others are so vulnerable?

The mice feel safe when they are hidden from view.

Next year I will have to put down the traps early ,keep checking them and clear the long grass nearby.
