My neighbor has a huge patch of goutweed that they are ignoring. It has started to creep under the fence into my garden. What's the best way to deal with this? Should I have a barrier installed? Something else? If I do a barrier, what type, how wide, how deep? I have a redbud tree about three feet away from the fence (it's still very small), obviously I don't want to hurt the tree.
