could be too much sun..that’s too bad..my Fire Islands don’t look great..not sure why..

I have filtered sunlight in my front bed but some of my blues are already turning green. In the back we had a tree service take down some lower branches so I am expecting some sun burn there. I expect to water a lot more and move some of my pots around the yard to avoid issues with too much sun.

So not anthracnose???? 🙏🏽

If it's rust then you should remove all the infected leaves and thoroughly apply fungicide to other hostas, correct? I haven't heard about it in hostas. I am more familiar with it in daylilies, especially those grown down south where the fungus doesn't die in the cold months.

I dig her up and bare rooted jer too. I don’t know why, it does not look like it has a fungal disease, but I guess I can’t see it. If it really is a fungus, I think I will dump her rather than go through all the bother of treating her. Here’s pictures of the roots:

A plant with rust has to be disposed of and the other hosatas would have to be sprayed with a fungicide. You can't cure rust in a plant. Do you have someone nearby who could help you diagnose it? A botanical garden or county extension agent or even a nursery where you could take it sealed in a bag?

I have places to take it, but I am a bit laid up with my ankle sprain and knee wound. Do you mean all the others nearby must be treated???? Like, within how many feet?

Oh , I should not have been cryptic. Not a big problem.

Plant it back in pot. Give fertilizer. Keep leaves dry. Many times it will go away on its own . If you do want to try neem oil spray on the leaves, it will help.

Ain't big issue. More like a flu for plants.

Soil is a living thing, it has viruses and bacteria that at certain conditions like too much rain, water on the leaves for too long and maybe weakness from being transplanted or roots being waterlogged will develop opportunistic problems.

My take on it to increase general immunity of the plant. Plant will take care of it. If plant large enough, worst areas can be removed aka most damaged leaves. I do love foliar sprays early morning by Smiling gardener method.
