Help with open layout

Moving into my new apartment that has an open layout that I love but it's also an awkward space. This is the current setup(still moving in so it's a bit messy). I've played around with it and trying to figure out what makes the most sense. Ideally, I would want the tv and couch in the open space but because of the layout, I wouldn't know where to put the tv if I went with the first image. Also, there's a long ledge under the windows that I still don't know how to utilize. How should I lay this out? I also included the floor plan. Any other tips of things I can add to make things flow better would be appreciated!

Yes, it will fit on the ledge. I'm renting my apartment.

The layout in the 2nd image seems like it would work better for the TV and console combination. You can use the ledge, near the table, for plants.

I agree that if you watch much television, you may find the light in the "Dining room" to be better for your living/tv area, and your dining along the window wall similar to in your second image. Plants or attractive books arranged attractively on the ledge might look nice?

I had another weird thought, too. I don't know if you're living alone, but I recall when I was single, I had to rearrange my living room because having my back to a window while I read and listened to music or watched TV, made it difficult to really relax, even if I had the curtains closed.
