I don't see anything wrong with your current black leather sofas. I wouldn't have selected them, but they appear to be in good shape.

A rug with a bit more color could have made things more interesting in the room. Not sure your room requires the size rug you selected. You might have been able to go one size down.

A cream couch will go with your beautiful rug.

When you say “couch cover,” do you mean a slip cover? Not on leather. A colorful throw, or bright pillows that bring out colors in your rug will add a bit of life to your couch and loveseat. I would think about a different rug and more colorful accessories than “covering” them.

Do you need to cover the couch because of animals?

The heavy dark seating sucks the light and energy from the room. A lighter couch, two chairs would be better. You can not slipcover leather, it will be a mess.

I agree no slip cover will work. We d need a lot more info too. Take pics of the whole space in much bettr light. A scaled floor plan also all here in comments The plan for sure posted in jpeg format. DO NOT start another post.

Here is the dilemma . im in a budge but dont like the dark couches. Not practical to go buy new ones . what about repainting the walls? or pillows to add something?

You're stuck with them? It's impractical to keep throwing money at something you don't like. Just wait, and save, and watch local consignment stores too. You might get lucky.

I would separate the "L" a bit to give both sofas a bit of breathing room. Add a small round table where the sofas meet. Place a creamy/white round tray with accessories on the round ottoman/sofa table. Basically, currently the sofas are the only thing to look at - distract the eye with a few accessories.

Check out FB marketplace and Craig’s list for people who are practically giving good couches away before they move. Continue to save, but getting a nearly-new, lighter colored couch is doable without spending thousands at a standard furniture store.

Another factor of leather furniture is …that nothing really stays in place…due to the slippery finish..so adding “things” is not a practical option..I would suggest testing the market for selling the set …to see if that is a feasible option..to allow you to replace them..

also in no way is the big green hassock serviceable .. as a coffee table…the only way to benefit from keeping the hassock is if your couch replacement matches it🤷🏻‍♀️

replacing that with something that will look more appropriate and make the existing set more appealing and useable as is…

Different areas of room furnishings appear to be clumped into tight areas. Leave space to walk between the sofa and love seat, a glass top oval or square (no pointy corners, please) will allow more light. The green hassock can move to the side of the room to be used when necessary. Your credenza under round mirror is too short to accommodate the bulky lamps, try to find scaled down lamps and shades for light and not blocking the mirror. If there are brighter colors in the rug, or even off-white select throws and textured pillows to brighten the room.

None of the seating faces the tv?..

Is the height of the tv comfortable for viewing?

Is there another piece of furniture there ..in white …that needs to be included ..or moved?
