Here is the Batik quilt

I just now finished the stitching. There are a number of threads which need clipping and then into the washer.

The pattern is called Chop Suey by 4th and Main. I couldn’t find the pattern for sale but since it was on Pinterest, I figure fair game and it was easy enough to figure out.

When DGS#2 married a few years ago, I really overbought this batik. I have used it in several quilts and I still have yards left. I have no idea why I bought so much but I love it so keep using it.

Making the quilt was also easy but a couple of caveats…1. make sure you cut enough pieces , 2. be sure to sew sections together in the correct order and 3. watch the layout.

All things I ran into. Duh!

I am thinking about redoing it but reverse the colours. What do you think??

That's a great quilt, Theresa. I understand why you bought so much batik. It's really a beautiful color. The pattern is very fun and interesting too. Good job overall.

Beautiful, Theresa! That’s a great pattern for batik. I always wonder what to do with the multi-colored batiks.

Bkay, it is a 12” block. But I have been figuring out how to make it a 9” block. It will work…I think.

Theresa, if you cut your squares to 2" they would finish 1-1/2", so 6 x 1-1/2" = 9" block. OR - did you cut strips and squares? Either way, it will convert to a 9" block.

Thanks Sue. I am having a lot of ’brain fog’ lately and I appreciate the help..

At 12”, the quilt got a tad bigger than my usual chemos, so 9” might be a better size.

2” strips it is!
