Door latch marking trim

Hello - in process of replacing colonial style mdf casing/baseboard with flat pine trim. Didn’t realise the new trim profile would be in the way. The door match catches the edge of the trim, leaving a black mark. Are there any solution to prevent this other than replacing the trim?
