I like the rock hate the shake siding it in no way belongs on that home . IMO stop until you have a really good plan for the whole facelift . I cannot see what is gained by extending the roof . You need to be careful to stay true to this style . What are you planning for the new windows ? IMO blue is all wrong for the stone so I would choose a nice color from the stone for both the windows and the new very simple siding then get to work on the landscaping starting with an actual walkways to the front door .

Darker blues seldom work out well as an exterior paint color. I agree with Patricial Colwell. The shakes don't seem to work well with the flat siding. Would suggest you replace with material to match the existing siding. As far as color I might suggest picking a color to match the middle tone in the stone and painting your siding (and shakes if you keep that) with crisp white trim for the windows.

Try showing a photo with the front of the house illuminated by sunlight, not in shadow.

I agree about the siding materials matching. Look at Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze, a deep brownish Charcoal color.

The stone has a blue cast in the shade in this photo, but the stone should go with this color.

I'd get rid of the shakes and do all vertical siding. I don't see any blue on your house at all. If the siding were all one color, blue would be great. The current chopped up look is not great.

A better photo to begin with would help this rendering of an alternate color scheme.

A lighter color pulled from the stone range could be a possibility.

Contrast the stone with a medium gray stain could also work with the home.
