My little guy has a passion for stuffies as well. But they never live long enough to require any cleaning so can't help you there. 😊 No sooner does he receive a new stuffie, he immediately works to disembowel it to remove the squeaker and all its filling. All that is left is a limp scrap of furry skin that soon gets ignored. When he stops paying any attention to it - dragging it around and chewing or sucking on it usually takes up a couple of days - then it gets tossed in the garbage.

I buy the cheapest stuffed dog toys I can find.

If you can remove and replace the squeaker, or dont mind sacrificing it, try putting the toys in a mesh lingerie bag, and then wash them in the washing machine, dry in the bag in the dryer. We wash and dry a mix of cat toys (along with towels, fleece throws, cat beds….in regular washloads with detergent and bleach) at the animal shelter where i volunteer. Most, if not all the toys make it through just fine.

i don't even try to save stuffies. i have 2 danes, one of them is the destroyer of all that is stuffed. i go to the goodwill outlet store and buy them by the pound. $8 will buy enough stuffies to last a month, at least. i pick through them and select the ones w/o "button" eyes or those stuffed with those tiny beads (learned that lesson the hard way, i vacuumed up tiny beads for weeks).

Oh, I can not get rid of them. They are his pals. He will carry them around and take them to bed. He knows each one and wants them all. He likes to tug with you and for you to throw them, but then he will carry them off.

I wash on gentle in the machine. No special care for the squeakers, and they've always been fine. Then I let them air dry.
