I too like the idea of a mirror. I'd go with a wood frame. What is the size of that wall? Use tape to play around with different sized mirrors. I'd go with larger rather than smaller.

The wall is 40 inches - but I think a 36" wide mirror might be a bit too much. I did use paper to get some thoughts. Rather than brown wood I was thinking maybe something painted.

You're right, 36" would be too wide. Look for something closer to 30" wide. The picture you posted of the mirror you're considering is too small for me to have an opinion of it.

I would not hang a mirror there, too much reflection, visual clutter.

A long thin framed art, and edit the ledge to three pieces grouped together on one side.

a different lamp, even a floor lamp. the table is too small to be useful.

a larger rug.

I like a mirror by the front door to make a quick check in, and it's a walk through space so what it reflects otherwise is not crucial.

Can you take a closer pic of the front door and the area in question.

Are you talking about hanging a mirror in the cased opening? I might get rid of the sill trim on the bottom and add some sort of decorative screen or glass.

If this doorway is your most used entry/exit, I would consider a small mirror to check yourself before answering door or leaving. Or instead, you can do a medium sized piece of art, but I’d remove the things on that sill. Is this a townhome?
