What if you had the living area and dining in one area? Sectional on front wall, and the rug defines the seating area. No rug for dining table.

Would this arrangement give you more storage in the kitchen?

It doesn't make any difference if it's a liquor bar or a coffee bar, you need storage, a countertop, and and under-counter fridge.

In the first image, you'll notice how we included a bar and a pantry right next to the kitchen in this design for a client. Please also note the size of the dining room table we used.
