You don't show all the walls in your entryway but if possible I would place the horse along the wall facing the staircase and place a console with mirror on the wall next to the staircase.

Horse needs to be up on a stand as if it were sculpture (which is how you are using it)

I'd suspend it from the ceiling. More evocative of the carousel vibe, easy to clean under, don't have to construct a stand. Could be amazing to create a hung light fixture that has this coming down from it.

I would get somebody to make a plain wood cube painted the wall color for it to stand on.

I think it should have a pole to reference its original use. You also want to decide if you want it low so people can climb it or higher so it’s more ‘display’

I'm thinking more like a museum mounting.
