We are renovating a home with a staircase at the entryway of the house. It curves slightly but otherwise leads straight upstairs where the railing continues in sort of a semi-circle around the upstairs. Imagine something like the picture below in terms of layout (the house is not that large or luxurious!)

My question is: is there a nice-looking railing I could put in that provides privacy so that the people standing in the entryway can not see straight upstairs/the people upstairs can walk from room to room (even just to the bathroom!) without being visible to the people below?

I thought maybe privacy glass rail but I would prefer since I have little kids and the thought of trying to keep it clean is overwhelming

Another thought is just to build a pony wall but that seems old-fashioned and would really close up the openness of the space (it's not that large)
