Even though the roof won't be replaced until next year, roof color plays an important role in the siding & trim colors. Have you looked at roofing to know what you might like? A medium gray is usually a versatile choice BUT you need to get some samples to see how they play with the stone. I'd do that before choosing a siding color.

Our roofer is going to use ICO Nordic shingles - I saw a ton of options on their website so we can pick whatever color goes best with the whole asthetic …. this is what we currently have :

that was sort of my instict as well, to pull earthy colors out of the stone. The current siding color is so faded we thought it was grey when we bought the house, which made more sense with the roof colors. but after living here for a while I agree that the roof colors feel so out of place with the stone work in the columns and all the landscaping rock. A dark dark brown like you suggested sounds great for the new shingles when the roof is done. We may be able to do the roof and gutters this fall 🤞🏻

We definitely want it to feel earthy and welcoming, but clean.

So many of the paint samples we brought home feel off because we were trying to go grey toned (my step dad really likes the modern grey look) and I’m realizing softer earthy colors will give a better result.

I like SW Black Fox and wonder if it will work for the trim…those purpley/brown undertones are close to the darkest color in the stone. I am just not sure which lighter or medium body color will work best if we do go that route

Agree with Sigrid! A muted earthy green will look lovely with your stone and with the whole surrounding environment. And also leave you more flexibility in choices for roof and decking colors, where you are going to have a very fixed selection of the manufacturers' brown tones.

I'm not familiar with the Sherwin Williams colors. Going from the appearance on my monitor, that would be nice.
