I had to reset all my fixtures prior to tile- it was easier than explaining how a level works to plumbers.

I used to be very picky about things like this. Not anymore. It’s not worth re-doing, imo. If everything else is properly done in the construction, I suggest you live with it. Especially if you have to pay.

It may be possible to get some movement on the valves without removing the tile, but I wouldn't count on it.

It's unfortunate - but I agree with CY.

Once the tile is set, it becomes very iffy that you are going to be able to patch this and get it looking right and watertight.

This is when you smack your GC upside the head for not paying attention.

Look folks - Tiled showers have LOTS of opportunities to mess things up. And once they are done, "repairs" are mostly a rip out and start over.

Do an inspection at each phase - framing, plumbing rough-in, backer board install, etc. Don't wait to discover something wasn't done right. And if anything isn't right, stop the job.

On this site we've seen things not centered. We've seen no tub spout connection. We've seen really bad waterproofing. And it get's discovered AFTER the tile is up.

Can you access the back side of the wall from whatever room is behind it? Maybe there's enough wiggle room to adjust from behind. Otherwise, maybe not.

There are hills to die on. This is not one of them. As long as the waterproofing was done correctly behind the tile, this doesn't affect the usability. And you have to look really really hard to even see the issue.
