Help with kitchen design please!

We had a leak and cabinets need to be replaced. Flooring is not going to change as it’s throughout entire downstairs. What cabinet colors and countertops would look good in this kitchen? Also thinking about putting a double oven where the desk is now. Thoughts?

If you have a spare tile, take it to the cabinet shop and the countertop shop. If not, take a photo of the tile and print it out more or less full size or 8.5 x 11 inches. You may have to fiddle with the colors in the image a bit. Printed paper will be much faster and easier than holding up your phone and trying to imagine the tile next to the cabinet and countertop samples.

Have your tile professionally cleaned and any lighting changed before finalizing your color choices.

Sorry about the leak - that stinks! But it does give you an opportunity to make your kitchen better.

Are there things that you really like about the current configuration? Things that you can't stand? Do you use the island? Do you have a separate dining room?

Things to consider: make all your base cabinets drawers. Make the uppers all the same height (how high are your ceilings?). Put in a proper range hood, vented to the outside. Move the fridge to the right of the sink; perhaps move the sink to the left a bit, or use a smaller sink base to provide more landing space next to the fridge. Put wall ovens where the fridge was (the desk area seems to far away from the action for me). If you replace your range with a cooktop, go for induction! Replace the desk with pantry cabinets, or a closet with adjustable shelves (which would be cheaper).

Thank you! Yes, we do use the island a lot. I would love for it to be bigger and allow for seating. We do have a separate dining room. I definitely want lower base drawers. I would like more organization in the kitchen. I agree on the uppers being the same height. I am so stuck on what colors would go with the current floor.

If you plan to replace cabinets, then I would consider the entire space as a whole and not try to change things piecemeal. To get the best layout design help, we need more information - anything else is just guessing at this point. We need a fully-measured layout of the space and a sketch of the entire floor the Kitchen is on. See the Featured Answer in the "New to Kitchens? Read Me First!" thread. I think post a to scale plan here since you have the opportunity to do a whole new space Do the plan on graph paper show every window , dooraway where those lead every measurement clearly marked posted here in jpeg format in a comment . DO NOT start anothe rpost . You will get a ton of free advice some from real KD pros .The floor will drive the bus so IMO no stark white for anything for sure.

Make sure you lean INTO your flooring. So many people try to hit white with beige floors like this and it rarely works. You can do a white quartz (but I’d be nervous if white cabinets) if it has some warm gold-rust veining in it. There are some beauties out there!
