It sounds like you’re working on a great redesign for your living room. Here are some suggestions to help you reconfigure your furniture in the smaller space:

1. Replace the coffee table: Since the 64" square coffee table will take up a lot of space, consider swapping it for a smaller, more streamlined option. A round or oval table might work better, as these shapes can help with flow and make the space feel less cluttered. Look for one with a lower profile or built-in storage if you need additional functionality.
2. Reassess the bookcases and bar cabinet: If you’re thinking of removing the bookcases and bar cabinet, consider alternative storage solutions that take up less floor space. Floating shelves or a slim console table could provide necessary storage without overwhelming the room.
3. Sofa placement: With an 80" wide sofa, positioning it along one of the longer walls (26') could be effective. Ensure there’s enough space around it for easy movement and access to the fireplace. If the sofa feels too dominant, lighter or more compact designs for other pieces might help balance the room.
4. Red chairs: Instead of placing the red chairs in front of the windows, consider positioning them along one of the shorter walls or creating a cozy conversation area. This will maintain the flow of the room and preserve the view out the windows.
5. Black armchairs: The black armchairs could work well in the space where the backless stools are in your model, especially if they are scaled appropriately for the new layout.
6. Add multi-functional furniture: In smaller spaces, furniture that serves multiple purposes can be very useful. Look for ottomans with storage, foldable or extendable tables, and other versatile pieces to maximize the functionality of the space.
7. Consider traffic flow: Ensure there’s enough space to walk around comfortably. Arrange the furniture to create clear pathways and avoid blocking doors or pathways.
8. Visualize with layout tools: Using a room planner or design app can help you visualize different configurations and make the most of your space.

Hubby did a comparison layout/overlay of current home, to new space. The red outline is the new Floorplan. With the aqua details that are part of the end unit bump out, plus window locations. CURRENT home layout is the black - new home does not have a fireplace.

I had pretty much figured the coffee table just takes up too much real estate. The bar cabinet will likely need to go, the bookcases can go in the upstairs loft space which will become a sitting room with our sleep sofa in place.

Our CURRENT living room is 24'3" wide by 15'9"

The NEW living room is 16'5" by 15'7"
