Question about LVP

last modified: 2 years ago

We have narrowed the choices down to Coretec Brookfield Maple and Jerome Oak. Does anyone have any used either of these two colors or have any pictures you would share?

We are replacing 830 square feet of flooring in an investment property that eventually we hope to live in. It is a pet friendly home near a ski area. We are looking at Coretec, Smartcore and Resolve flooring. Does anyone have any reviews or experience with these products?

Thanks!

I think iif you check out each one's independant reviews you will find all have good and bad. Go shopping idealyy one that sells more than one brand so you will get a etter idea of comparison Often I find I want a specific color and that often drives the brand. It seems Lowes stopped carrying Smartcore so if you are getting it now you will need to see who sells it.

Coretec is a well-regarded brand in the LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) world, known for offering a wide range of collections. If you can provide more details about the specific collection or style you're interested in, you'll likely get more responses.

I have found best place to see reviews and real life photos is to search for LVP groups on Facebook - there are several very large & active groups

This YT channel by an installer has good info. I tested 18 Vinyl Planks from a Big Box Store and it AINT PRETTY (youtube.com)

Flooret Modin can be on your list. Safe and Sound (youtube.com)

Some varieties look stripey. Get a box to lay out to avoid a disappointment.

"This YT channel by an installer has good info."

He didn't perform any tests on the floors. He just took small pieces of flooring, played with them (handled them, bent them, yanked off the locking "system") and speculated about their performance. Why is the "strength" of the locking "system" (the tabs that interlock the tiles) important once the floor is installed? He didn't explain. His scratch "tester" was a kitchen fork.

There are some folks on youtube who do some pretty competent comparative product testing. This guy isn't one of them.

We installed Coretec in our Florida home 5 years ago. We are very happy with it. We’ve moved furniture to clean behind it, have two dogs. Very durable.

Looks nice! I am considering Coretec too. May I ask what is the name of the flooring choice you installed in the pic?

Thanks so much for the information. eld6161 - which Coretec did you use?

I've posted several times about our experience with LVP. We ordered SuperCore online.

I did a lot of leg work comparing all the big box stores (all lower quality, IMO), and a least a dozen home decorating stores within a 50+ mile radius of MInneapolis.

The Supercore has a much better locking system (5G), and warranty. The company was generous with their samples, and has good customer service and follow up.

The price was half of the better stores, quality was better, free delivery to our driveway, and no tax.

I think this is our 4th or 5th summer - the floor is great! NOT a single dent, chip or scratch to date! We live on a lake & summer wknds are busy with adult kids, spouses, 16 grandchildren & their friends! Mops like a dream, no streaks, no haze.

My 2nd choice was a Karndean (Rustic Maple), but again - it was more than twice as much.

    Their website is weshipfloors.com

Update: We decided to go with the Coretec Brookfield Maple and couldn't be happier. We love the look.
