hallway - any advice

Any advice on how to decorate this hallway. It’s upstairs and the doors lead to the main bedroom.

That's exactly what I was going to write, art and rug. I'd also paint the vent cover the same color as the walls.

It's private space. Make a wonderful gallery wall of family pics. Get an area rug. Hang art you love......jeesh.

Make sure the bedroom looks great and open the darn doors!

I agree a perfect spot for family pics I aslo like my bedroom door open , not sure if a rug would be good plan but give it a try.

Some people keep their "darn doors" closed to keep dogs, cats, kids out of the room, to keep heat in or out, etc. Or because they prefer them closed.

It is fabulous to have this much space. How extensively you decorate it depends on how much of a look you want. I like the idea of it being a preview of your bedroom. I'd decorate the space the same way I would the entry hall to a home near the front door.

A rug will really help ground the space. On the short wall to the right, you could do a shallow console entry table. You could add a mirror above the table, and hang art across from it on the long wall.

These pics might not be your style but just for a sense of what is possible - a mirror, a large impressive piece of art, three pics in gallery format, a plant if you have enough daylight. Sculpture. A meaningful box or bowl. I would not get too overly detailed because you will have visual competition with the railing. I would not add benches or seating under the console.

Think about if you want to complement your master style wise and what would you like to see/enjoy/use. It can be practical (bookcase or home office) airy (large mirror and artificial plant), simple (family/vacation pictures placed on open shelves so easier to adjust). Lots of options really, including rug and impactful pendant. Depends on interest and budget.

I’m sure you don’t want to spend a lot and suggest HomeSense|Marshalls, Ikea and Target. Test things together (return if not suitable) and before long you’ll know.

I agree open the doors, make it inviting and showcase some favorite photos or fun art. Maybe wallpaper or a beautiful paint color that makes you smile.

You could change the doors to wood.

How long is the hall? Are there other doors? Will it look odd to have this area decorated and the rest of the hall plain? Can you take a picture the other way so we can see?

I do love family photos - black and white . That would be a wonderful area for that.

You could look at doing some artwork, or even a console table with some art above it. Here are just two ideas that might help you along.
