I'm not sure you are considering fixtures that are large enough for this space. The fixture should not be any smaller than 30" in diameter IMO

Are you going to keep a pub-height table here? They visually take up so much room, and are not comfortable to sit at for any length of time

Having owned a 60" square table at one time, I can tell you that once you add placemats and table settings it gets very crowded and people's eating areas begin to overlap.

I am so sorry that we bought this table and chairs from the previous owner. I really wouldn't know what to choose as a replacement. I guess i thought it would hold 8 people comfortably. Maybe I should bite the 1000.00 bullet and replace now. 😬

You can make the table work; it fits the space nicely.

When you have eight, use chargers instead of place mats. I see a countertop. Use it to serve buffet style.

Just me, but I do not light chains on a pendant or chandelier. I think a brushed gold would work nicely with the wood table top and the walls.

The internet can answer any question you might have. You will never get 8 people around a 60" square table unless it expands.

Unless you plan to feed 8 people every day, I'd select a table that expands.

And if you select a rectangular table, I would consider a rectangular light fixture.

The table is 62”x72”. I was told I needed one at least 28” in diameter. I am so confused.

Ohhhh I love the blue wall and the dark floors. So pretty and so many options you could do with this space.

I had an orbital chandelier in my previous home and loved it! Wish I brought it when I moved! I also think someone could make this space special. Unfortunately I am not much of a decorator. Nor do I know how to find one.

This area is part of an open room and there are pendants over the island that I like. So. I also have to keep these in mind when I look for the chandelier.

I think the idea of a round to oval table with leaves is perfect.

The thing about a pendant on a chain or cord is that they hang straight by gravity, and if you bump it no big deal. I was somewhere that had all the lighting on rigid down rods and the majority of them were slightly off kilter.

What about this?

I don't know what the decor look like in you home but I find the pub hight table and style give the room a casual feel. Perhaps you'd like something like this?
