For our guestroom we ordered a King metal frame platform bed and ordered a mattress for it that expands when you open the package. Very comfortable. Otherwise nothing smaller than a Queen.

Percale sheets are crisp and a cotton quilt is not too hot heavy. Provide a cozy folded blanket for cool night. Two soft pillows for each person.

You need two nightstands with lamps. A dresser with a flat top for keys, travel items.

A bench or suitcase rack. Hat rack. Clock radio to tune into local stations or the game.

Gotta have a comfy chair with ottoman to put the feet up.

For decor, we have framed travel posters of our area. A framed map with points of interest etc. would be nice. Books and magazines from the local area.

Choose a theme. Ours is mountain cabin which is our area.
