Hey design friends! Adding some warmth to my bathroom with a wood wall. Would you do the whole wall or just part of it? Please vote 🗳️ 🩷

None, if you don't get rid of the backsplash and counter that you have. Or, if it isn't wood look tile. And not real wood.

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. I forgot to edit out the existing stone backsplash. That is definitely coming out.

The wood is real with a waterproof finish

    Granite backsplash removed 😊
Looks like the whole wall wins

Hope you have a good exhaust fan that everyone remembers to use. Otherwise this just isn't a good idea. The countertop as pictured doesn't look like the best fit either, but maybe that is just a function of the rendering and not how it will actually look?

Feels like a nice bathroom is veering into disjointed overkill. What do you not like about your bathroom now and have you thought of other ways to fix it aside from the wood wall?

That counter badly clashes with that look. No real wood belongs there, even with a fan that sucks William Shatner’s toupee off of his head.

Give this up until hou pick different materials, and a better execution.

That wood you selected doesn't work with the style of your bathroom IMO.

Here are bathrooms that have wood, or faux wood that would work with your current selections.

The minimum amount you can install is the full wall, corner to corner. You don't start and stop features mid-wall.

I’m definitely open to other options.

The problem is, I have a painted wall and every time I wash my face or color my hair, I get spots on the wall so I’m ready to rip out this stupid granite riser/backsplash and put something on that wall.

    • Can’t replace the countertop
    • Don’t wanna do a tile job
    • Not interested in wallpapering
    • Happy to do a full white wood wall

    @zumi you’re hilarious!!!

It’s a nice classic bath, i think the wood add-on looks inelegant -

So are you mainly looking for something more wipeable than the existing painted wall? You could ditch the two small mirrors and install a single large mirror over both sinks, which would be way easier to clean -

I love the 2 mirrors. One large mirror screams cheap builder decision to me 🙅🏼‍♀️

    Unfortunately, so does the wood..........

Sorry but that looks like a mess and honestly just as hard to do as tile . As for the mess you make a good quality paint can be be wiped all the time but hair dye will not be lees with wood and will still need to be instantly wiped off so I see no benefit .

okay... You need something that will wipe clean and not stain. Wood seems like an option but you are open to other options as long as it is not tile, wallpaper

And i assume you really like the feel of wood..

If you could replace the counters it might look really pretty. Like this below

I think the wood is not a good idea for a lot of reasons and will still need to be wiped, so you‘re really not gaining anything in that regard. If anything, a mirror won’t be stained and there are nice styles that don’t feel builder grade.

The wood that you have selected for your wall just doesn't seem to fit. Not sure I would actually change that wall. Might suggest that you depend on the accessories to bring color, texture and pattern into the room. Good luck!

So appreciate all the excellent, honest comments and ideas💡!

    Because of them…

    Wood is out! 👎🏼 🪵

@maureen I never would have thought I’d like a big mirror but that one is gorgeous!

Are you sure your bathroom has enough storage? I would require medicine cabinets to hold prescriptions and other drugs.

Beverly, those are really awesome, but yes, I’ve got plenty of storage and I’m crazy organized so everything has a place. But wow! Nicely done! No wonder you’re a Pro! ⭐️
