You can go to Home Depot and purchase small samples of the colors (obviously, they are put into HD paint jars/cans).

Is this perfect? Um, maybe not? But as a homeowner, I have done my own painting a lot. A lot. And I've never had an issue with color matching, nor from using another paint manufacturers' colors in Home Depot paint.

Home Depot has all the codes at their fingertips from S-W. And this is a better option for you than asking people what they have used on their homes.

I have fan decks for some of the manufacturers, like S-W. You might want to invest in a fan deck. I find it helpful.

We‘ve also bought sample cans of SW at Lowe’s.

You know Benjamin Moore colors. Check out their Hawthorne Yellow. And get a sample of it. Then get it matched at SW. It is a true yellow, but not garish. Also, not crème. I have seen it on an exterior in Minnesota AND I have it as my interior guestroom color (north facing) in Ohio. Give it a try.

If I were buying LP Smartside siding, I'd be inclined to buy one of the 16 prefinished colors, assuming that a factory-applied finish was best even if I couldn't get the color I preferred most.

You might research Cool Exterior Walls and select a yellow paint color with a high solar reflectance from the directory. Here are six in order of reflectance:

• HONIED WHITE
• VANILLA ICE CREAM
• SMOOTH SILK
• SPANISH LACE
• FRITTATA
• SUNFLOWER SEED

The fact is factory prefinished will last longer and any color will fade in the intese sun . I find most yellows on large homes too much yellow but we have no idea what your home looks like or wahy out of all the colors yellow . So post a pic of the house , does it have stone or brick anywhere what are the windows so many things drive exterior color I need context .

Oh, I thought you were buying LP Smartside siding whose factory options are 16 standard colors or prime-only.

Our contractor is taking the primed smartside to a place that does the finishes, not buying it prefinished from LP.

Here is a photo of the house. Patricia Colewell, it is small or a 2-story - only a little less than 1700 square foot above grade. We are going for a historic farmhouse (definitely not Modern Farmhouse) look. why yellow of all colors? Because my husband and I both love yellow houses. There is no brick or stone on the house.

I got samples of Lemon Meringue and Full Moon before realizing hey were i terior colors. Full Moon looks like exactly what I want. I think I will try banana cream, but I’m aftaid it will be too bright.

I would get 2 huge boards primed and apinted with the samples 2 coats and then see how they look in the bright light I think both those coloors will wash out in the soutern sun Check out Venetian Yellow

When I search for SW matches with BM's Windham Cream I get Buff, Classic Ivory, Friendly Yellow and Glittery Yellow.
