Help choosing bathroom fixtures!

last year

Were doing a bathroom remodel and finally settled on tile and vanity. now i need help with fixtures! i thought a gold/bronze/brass would go nicely but it made everything seem so yellow. based on the kohler faucet wheel it seems like polished nickel actually looks quite nice but i just cant picture a good mirror or sconces or other fixtures. any input would be so appreciated!

If the top for your vanity is off-white & you selected the floor to match that, why would you select a SNOW white tile for the walls? IMO it's a bit too bright even to complement a white toilet.

Looking at the tile again, the floor tile appears too much like almond and not off-white.

Also since the vanity hardware appears to be rubbed bronze, why not continue that for faucets etc.?

I think I'd be working with more than 1 tile to make a decision regarding the floor and walls.

I am not understanding your flooring. At all. : )

Especially not with ice white subway tile. Do you plan to change vanity cabinet hardware?

Clarify what you are attempting. Is there a shower? A tub? It's a primary, ? A kid bath?

With golden tones of the vanity? I'd stay with matte black! Or Chrome with all the accents in matte black: meaning bath shower fittings /lav faucet in polished chrome, and the HARDWARE as is on vanity, lights, towel bars etc in matte black. Polished nickel? No. You will not love the spotting that goes with it and its warmer greenish tone? No.. Please re think the floor, and if you have a plan and more detail? Share......Very disjointed is what I see now.

Thank you! it seems based on comments i may have missed the mark here. floor is supposed to be makoto tatami hexagons, what i thought was a creamy beige. wall tiles are manchester bianco. its a primary bathroom with shower only. any suggestions would be helpful!

    So we are still confused........

Here is the issue? If you LIKE the floor? You repeat it on shower walls! I certainly see no need for the icy white tile. Repeating a floor tile on shower walls makes a bath feel spacious and smooth ! Now.......what is the SHOWER floor? Is it a mosaic? Do you want something darker? Where is the picture of the bath you are redoing?

Design is editing. Screw ups happen when you over complicate a bath,......needlessly. Too many selections, niches that fail.... accents etc.

Do you love the floor? That is the question, and NO to the white grout if you do : )

I would match the wall tile to the color of the floor tile. Apparently they make Makoto in a 2 1/2 X 10 rectangle.

Thank you!! You guys have given me a lot to think about. Can you think of tiles that would work together better to create an effect like this?

Using the same tile as the floor for walls and shower walls (in the subway rectangle that clt3 mentioned) would nail it, without the color matching or "going with" issues that beige and off white tile can present. It would look pulled together and serene, and let the vanity, hardware and mirrors be the stars. Oh, and match the grout to the tile as closely as possible.

See what I just did here? I cropped off the white tile. I think this may be the essence of what you want......

Look at the tones/MULTI in the flooring, Do you need a bright white anything? Would the trim to the paint color be enough? Those walls are not

Beige. It's a warm/cool effect, and the warmth is mostly from the vanity.

If I had not mentioned the crop, would you notice the white subway was gone? : )

Do we even know the exact colors? No... because it's a picture from the internet.

    For you...its a f.e.e.l.i n,g, you want.

Call it all serene, light, modern and a bit organic. Put words to the feeling.

Gold/bronze? It never worked and it wont.: )

You CAN mix the gleam of polished chrome , ( a forever finish, especially in a shower) with matte black as accents. Mirror, hardware...towel access, ....

I do not like hex tiles but nice porcelain 12 x24 in a color that is neutral not yellow for both bathroom floors and shower walls is IMO a nice way to handel small spaces That also keeps grout lines to much less than subway tile . . White next to those hex tiles is not good.I use that same tile in a smaller size for the shower floor and no niches to high light shampoo bottles The simpler the choices the longer you will like the space . and also the less hassle trying to make everything work together . I would do polished nicel for fixtures or chrome and change the hardware on the cabinet to that finish too
