Sorry, can't oblige, a camera in my hands is a lethal weapon, a weapon of mass destruction, a plague of epic proportions....I have never taken an even poor picture in my life! If I stand next to you while you are taking a picture the picture will turn our lousy. That's how bad it is with my camera skills.

Forgot to mention True Passion's bloom attributes.

They are: strong non-nodding necks; heavily petaled blooms with a nice height (not flat when fully open); petals which neither crisp in intense heat, quill, nor fade; incredibly long lasting blooms, 7+ days in pristine condition no matter how hot; self cleaning blooms with no hips (so far); and a medium peppery scent reported (unable to get into the bed to take a sniff yet); and the most intense, neon orange/red 3.25" blooms to be seen around these parts.

The bush itself has a strong, single stem tendency so I agree with Ping Lim classifying it as a hybrid tea, although not a 3' long stemmed HT, more of a 12" long stemmed HT. True Passion is definitely a bush of substantial foliage for a hybrid tea.

Since I don't drive anymore, haven't in 12 years, I don't get to the local mom and pop nor Home Depot, Lowe's, Wal-Mart type nurseries. I get all my roses, supplies, even mulch delivered either through online purchases delivered by USPS, FedEx, UPS, or by nursery delivery as in bags of mulch. I mentioned this, that no matter how disadvantaged you are, you can still grow roses. You'll figure out a way.

BTW. I have 20 nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. This is quite remarkable since I have only one sibling, an older brother who was prolific and greatly blessed in offspring, while I have none. Never was blessed with children, and am an immediate family of one person, me...."The Last Mohican." 😁 I do not ask for help from any of them, love them dearly...don't get me wrong, but if I cannot achieve a goal by myself, with the help of Our Lord, I change my plans.

I got my True Passion from either Home Depot Online, or through Amazon, can't remember. It appears that they both purchase their stock from the same supplier in Texas, or should I say have a contract with the Texas source to ship out roses as the orders come in from HD or Amazon. The price was about $32.00, free postage.

Large pots of well rooted roses, in bloom are what I have gotten through Amazon and HD, with my many purchases from them over the last many years. The True Passion came a little wilted, but was in excellent condition otherwise, full of leaves and blooms, as expected going by my other past purchases.

True Passion is such a tough rose, it apparently ships very well at almost all growing season periods, beastly hot as well as cool and pleasant.

I saw true passion and true inspiration at Home Depot's plant cemetery. I picked up True inspiration for $10. The plant was sad looking, and I have a soft spot for dying plants.

Socal, it will grow like it's on steroids for you. You,will be glad you rescued the ailing treasure. My True Inspiration rivals any Austin for beauty plus it,has all,the merits of being a workhorse Ping Lim rose, one of his best intros. Expect it to get bushy not bolt upright for a hybrid tea.

Since you have mild winters you could purchase any True Passion, True Inspiration, or True Sincerity...just about any time online from Home Depot, Lowe's, or Amazon. I would avoid the hottest months simply because the bush,could come stressed or worse.

I think you will like True Love, Kristine. I’ve only had mine for three or four months now and I think it it’s just the cutest, sweetest little red rose! Perfect rich red without any orangey tones and so compact and mannerly! I don’t know how big it might eventually get but I don’t expect it will be large at all. I noticed my ten your old daughter prefers that rose for wearing in her hair and it stays fresh and pretty in her hair for hours!

What I greatly appreciate about True Love is its voluptuous foliage. Most mini-floras are rangey, with poor bush appeal, but with great flower appeal. True Love is richly clothed in very healthy looking foliage.

Moses, since you are such a fan of Ping Lim, may I suggest you try his Sweet Fragrance. This is it's third year in my garden, and it is a stellar achiever in my disease plagued garden. It gets next to no black spot or anything else here, and is almost always in bloom, with plenty of fragrance, stays fairly compact as a bush, and just is a pleasure to have.

I really liked my Sweet Fragrance bushes. They were the first to bloom in spring. However, they black spotted if not sprayed here. So, in my campaign to grow roses that needed no spraying for fungus diseases (although I still must spray insecticide for rose midge fly), they got removed. Lovely flowers, compact bushes, quick repeaters, but black spotters. 😥 I also found them hardly fragrant, but if they were black spot free, or very close to it, lacking much fragrance would be of less importance. Thank you for the promotion. I suspect in a growing environment where black spot is not an issue or very light of an issue, Sweet Fragrance would work wonderfully.

Moses, I am surprised to hear that they were bad blackspotters for you, since bs is a major problem in my garden, but not for Sweet Fragrance. Bummer. I am glad to hear, however, that you are familiar with the rose, sorry it didn't work out for you.

I also grow and love Sweet Fragrance, no trouble with BS here, and they dont get sprayed.

My True Love just arrivedfrom Home Depot. It looks like the box got flipped over in transit. Leaves and soil in the bottom of the box It should be fine but lt did come with a guarantee

I am so sorry, Kristine. It looks like a husky bush...minus its leaves and blooms. I am sure you could get it back to good health, but you shouldn't have to do that. It should come looking like the photo on Home Depot's online site.

Please quote me to Home Depot if necessary. Tell them how extremely pleased I am with the roses I purchased from them online and delivered to my home.

Keep me posted, and please know that True Love is an exceptional rose, a true miniflora hybrid tea, lots of single bloom to stem canes. AND, True Love self cleans...hips just dry up and fall off, no dead heading really needed.

True Passion has 3" flowers of the hottest tomato red color imaginable. It hurts your eyes to look at the color (in a good way, though). The flowers come in abundance and last a long time. No fragrance to speak of. Just as they start to age and are ready for dead heading, don't bother. The calyxes just shrivel up, and fresh shoots are already emerging for the spent blooms' replacements. It truly is dead heading free.

No black spot whatsoever, with pristine leaves down to the ground.

It can get tall, 4' last year as a 2nd. yearling, but this spring I was late pruning it and cut new growth that was already 3-4" extended with the pruning cuts made quite low, leaving bare canes only about 10-12" tall. I did this thinking its obvious vigor would make it grow to 5' tall by season's end, my goal, easily. There was no growth down that low. All the spring growth was on the parts of the canes I spring pruned.

It truly fooled me. The bush very slowly kicked into making new growth, of course from below the pruning cuts, from closed and reluctant to awake buds. The growth which was modest, began blooming at 18" tall. I should have left the canes longer at spring pruning, say at 24-28" with the 3-4" growths that were on them. I didn't want it to get 5+feet tall by this fall. At the look of things I learned, True Passion will make it to 4' this fall by a hair's breath. It's still a blooming machine, just not at its intended height. True Passion may not like such heavy pruning. Also, intense heat in the 95+°F range came right thereafter. I think that further stressed True Passion. I messed around and paid for it. It's growing valiantly though, in spite of me.

All in all, True Passion is fantastic. The only complaint is the smallish bloom size at 3". The blooms are petal packed, and the color, amazing! Highly recommended. It's very popular for a good reason.
