I would paint the trim the same color as the walls, different sheen

Look at KylieMInteriors.ca--she's a paint marvel! Here's her comments: "If you’re painting your walls Swiss Coffee, I highly recommend painting your TRIM Swiss Coffee. Because Swiss Coffee has unpredictable undertones, I wouldn’t mess around too much with mixing and matching whites with it. Swiss Coffee does have a yellow undertone that can ALSO pick up a weeee wink of green sometimes. This mild tendency makes me a bit nervous, especially when other soft whites are more predictable. (Similar colors to Swiss Coffee: BM White Dove/SW Alabaster/SW Greek Villa)

If you’d rather see some contrast and are okay with Swiss Coffee looking more like a subtle cream, consider Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace or Simply White."

What IS the trim? By that I mean is it truly deserving of major highlight? Satin finish and a soft luster is generally all that is needed to highlight even the most fabulous millwork- even when a match to the wall color.

Swiss coffee? I wouldn't go brighter, whiter than Simply White, which I will warn you..... does NOT cover well. Plan three coats. Your painter will say the same thing.

Your best bet? Do some test boards, paint the Swiss Coffee on there in flat and the trim color alongside, whatever it is.... in satin, and see for yourself.

Semigloss, depending brand, is in need of absolute perfection in that millwork, as the tiniest flaw in a nick ...will glare at you.: )
