Panel length is going to partially determine your rod height unless you order custom. Store-bought curtains come in standard lengths. You can add some length with rings.

The width of the panels you choose is going to determine how many panels you need. You want to make sure that it looks like the curtains can cover the windows without being stretched out. The rule of thumb is that the total width of the panels should be 2X the width of the window.

I can't tell from the angle but the space between the door and the window might be a little cramped for full panels. That's something to consider.

I personally don't care for rods that are crammed up against the ceiling but that look is better than puddling or panels that are too short.

Also, your space looks really nice! Is this a new home for you?

Thank you for all the inputs. I will keep them in mind while fixing the curtains. Yes, this is new construction home. We will be moving in October. It is bit overwhelming getting everything from scratch 😀

Looking at the photo, do you have enough room for a curtain panel on the door side of that window next to the door? Looks pretty narrow? Or it just may be the photo angle, as it makes that door and window next to it both look narrow…

You are right. The door and window do not have much gap. I was thinking of adding curtains only to the windows. I didn’t think abt what to do with the door privacy yet. There is a closed porch next to the door. I was thinking of adding privacy curtains to that.

I didn’t mean curtains around the door, though! But in this latest posted picture, there just is not enough room for a curtain panel between the door hinges and the window - at least not without covering a lot of the window. If you use curtain panels and a blind on the other windows - like the reeded look in Lynn Neilson’s post, then maybe you treat this window differently, and just use a reeded-type blind, but without the drapery panels?

How about having a single curtain panel for that door and window and adding 3 curtain panels for that area that way I don’t need to leave one window without a curtain.

If you put a rod over the door and the window then you have the issue of the panel covering the light switches.

I'd probably opt for covering part of the window with the panels or just putting blinds on that window and that door.

It's honestly one of my pet peeves, house plans that cram windows near corners or doors so there isn't room for window treatment. It happens a lot!

Yes could do that for the larger room..than add matching fabric roman shdes or woven wood for other windows in the smaller room..kitchen?

What is that space to the right of the door? Doesn't look large enough to be a sitting area or dining room when allowing for the walkway from the door?

The space right side to the door is like breakfast nook, there is a formal dining room next to the other side of the kitchen
