It depends on what look you want. One person's cozy is another person's dreary. Smoke Embers is a medium gray that leans cool. Light Pewter is doubling down on the gray and isn't a lot lighter than Smoke Embers. I think it would look OK, but not very interesting. Art and a rug would perk it up. What color is your table? Will you have a rug? For a light look, use White Dove on the walls and trim since WD is used in the kitchen. If you're going to have a rug, choose your wall color from the rug and have an actual color such as blue or green on the walls.

I need to see the space wall color is decided after many things are finished or at least on hand . What is the table material and what style and color sre the chairs what art work is in there ? I sure hope the space can handle a wall of cabinets . I rarely even like a hutch on top of a buffet in a DR so we need pics please . Lots of people love moody dark DRs but they need to not be a complete seperate entity in a home not like a bedroom . Post the pics here in a comment.

I would not paint a contrasting trim color.

Both BM Smoke Embers and BM Light Pewter are pretty colors, but separate.

Cabinets all the same color, Walls the complimenting color,

but trim the same as walls, different sheen for a stunning finish.

If the ceilings are tall and you have good natural light, I would even paint the ceiling BM Light Pewter. if not enough natural light, I would cut both colors 50% lighter... you'll be surprised how much darker they look in the space. Try them in all lights around the clock 24 hrs.
