That size would work if the nightstands were wider.

IMO a smaller fixture would be a better balance.

If you look on line, you’ll see different sizes. It depends on its style, your taste, as well as lighting needs. Headboard and what’s above , as well as its height are also factors in achieving overall balance. Have someone hold up to get a sense of the entire area (be sure you can return, just in case).

Agree that seeing the room height, the bed etc would help - if it were me, I would mock up different sizes with balloons and string so you can know for sure

I have no idea since we have no context . Lighting is chosen for both looks and function so I need to see the room and the lights . I ead in bed a light needs to be good enough to do that and still look good in my space .

Thanks for your input- all good suggestions. The room is under construction as part of an addition that we’re putting in. It will be an 8 foot ceiling. We really don’t read in bed- so, thats not an issue. We’re having a walk through with the electrician on Monday, so i really need to let him know my intentions.

An electrician only needs their location and doesn’t affect a pendant's size. Have you carefully measured the bed and side table locations, as that’s what is really key. Are you unsure about using pendants and need to advise on Monday?

If unsure and since you won’t be using for reading, an easy alternative are rechargeable sconses.

If table lamps are an option, electrician will just need an approximate measurement for wall outlets. This would be my choice and would wait to select until after bedroom is set up.
