Tiling above the 4” splash is a dated look. If you want tile, then remove the 4” counter material…then, tile down to the counter. Otherwise, leave the 4” backsplash and paint above.

^Agree…remove the 4” splash first. If not, I would paint just paint above it. If removing the 4” splash, a tile that’s the lightest color in your counters (cream?) would be nice.

Agree with the 4" comments. The colors are on the darker side. For me, I would contrast the cabinets and counter.i like the stone running up the wall, but likely that's not possible. 

You already have a backsplash - the 4" one. It is perfect. The counters have so much movement that the 4" splash and painted wall look much better than adding tile in to the mix.

The 4" backsplash is already there. So unless you plan on removing it, then you don't need to tile up and over it.

The current white looks very nice. Maybe white subway tile. I don't see a stop line and the outlet is in the way for the pantry.

Semi-gloss or Satin finish latex enamel paint actually works well as a backsplash. Honest. We have it. Easy to clean and tough.

They also make a peel and stick either a pattern or a texture for backsplash that repels grease and people really seem to love it.
