New Bathroom door faces toilet directly. Help

We are doing an add a level on to your existing footprint. There is a hallway bathroom upstairs between the two smaller bedrooms which you can see in image. We don't love that the toilet is the focal point right when you open the door. We asked our architect if we could move the bathtub to the rear wall where toilet is and have the toilet and vanity tucked to the side. He had concerns with doing that and keeping the window bc it's just not done anymore and a window in a wall that gets water is just a problem waiting to happen and we should straight up avoid it in a newly constructed space. This leaves me with the question- should I just accept this layout or flip it around and lose the window OR is there really no window option? Is there something like a tall awning type window that is made specifically to be water sealed for showers and bathrooms ?

Put a spring hinge on the door and it will always close!

I would keep a real window that can be opened for ventilation when needed.

Move the tub where the vanity is, the toilet where the tub is, and the vanity backing up against the bedroom wall. Keep the window in the same spot.

Better yet, replace the tub with a shower stall, to allow more room for the vanity, and even a linen closet.

@AnnKH Adding some additional info. This is going in between two kids rooms, as much as I'd love a shower in here, my son loves his baths. I hadn't considered the tub first next to the door at the beginning of the bathroom, but it's an interesting idea. Id much rather see the side of a vanity instead of a toilet.

With the room width of 5 ft 8 in, you can fit a small vanity beside the toilet. I don't know whether turning the toilet sideways works better. A wall hung vanity will make the room look more spacious, and be easier to clean the floor.

Toilets are in bathrooms and this is kids bathroom so who exactly is going to see this except the kids,changes cost money and IMO this one not worth it and never to eliminate a window which with kids is amust since 1/2 the time they forget to turn on the fan too .

Beverly's layout will make the bathroom feel larger. The layout you are showing will feel like along hall to the toilet. We have often added windows to shower areas for the light and ventilation. It just needs to be done properly.

Can th bedroom doors move around to corner? So the bathroom can take over some or all of the little hall between the bedrooms? Then you have more options. You certainly don’t want to lose any countertop or storage space by shrinking the vanity.
