Would you use a gardening app? Do you use one now?

last year

I have an idea for a mobile app I'd like to build that's aimed at helping new gardeners determine what plants would grow best, it would work roughly like this:

You select your location (or allow the app to use geolocation)

Answer a few simple questions about your goals for the plant (to eat, to look at, for privacy, etc.)

Take a photo of your soil and upload it.

The app analyzes this data, including some estimations on the characteristics of your soil based on the image, and then based on your climate, time of year, and goals, suggests which plants would do best in your space.

If this was completely free, would you use it? If not, might it have been helpful to you when you were first starting out?

Really appreciate any thoughts or opinions! Thank you everyone and I’m sorry if this isn’t appropriate for this sub - if so, I’ll delete.
