Help needed with livung room layout

last year

Hi, I would love to get some advise on how to place furniture for best flow and use of space in our living room area. We have a bay window, and the ceilings are 9 feet high. The living room and dining room are adjacent / open concept. I am adding photos.

I would not block or bay window, and walking way from dining. Get an area rug to define seating area.

So as for me better layout is #2 photo.

You need a rug, and I think it is time to let the love seat go bye bye, You could TRY it at the bay end, but It is going to look rather heavy and block light and view . Get a

comfy swivel chair for the bay with a table , and possibly two .

If you want the petite armless chairs, maybe keep one near the stair/dining end of the couch as a pull up.

The tables could use an update and if you draw and measure the space ? You will get more help

I happen to like furniture in a bay I often put a nice console table there with a lamp and so I like the chairs there but I agree a rug will tie it all together and you need lighting and lots of it so end tables with lamps at least a table betwween the 2 chairs also with a lamp . I do not really like the tables you have thay are a bit too ornate and a bit matchy. The chairs can be bigger for sure and the idea of swivel makes sense . I do not like those chairs you have seperated they are too small to stand alone . The pillows really relate to nothing so get the rug then figure out accent colors

Any suggestions on the tables that could be used in this space?

Loveseat facing bay is best layout, but bring the loveseat forward by about two feet so there's more space behind it an is reachable to the coffee table. Float the chairs to face the sofa on the wall. Anchor all your seating on a beautiful rug. Order the smallest rug to test against your floor and furnishings, then return for a larger size.

Here is another picture if the entrance, which makes it harder to place furniture

Also, I like to change the cushions for seasons/ holidays etc which is why i like keeping everything else neutral.

Thanks for the photo. For anyone following this thread, it's an example of why it's imporant to see an entire space FROM ALL FOUR WALLS right at the beginning! Now that I see the last photo 8 Comments in, one of my suggestions won't work.

I like photo 3 from your first set of pictures. I would switch the round end table and the tall lamp. So, the round coffee table is between the sofa and love seat. That will give people a place for drinks. I also like to change things up for the holidays. I would get a neutral rug for that reason. Your space is very pretty.
