their mistakes, or yours?

This is a house in Mexico that we had built. I was not there when they installed granite and arrival of dark stained cabinet which was custom built. Was thinking of removing the backsplash on the granite and lightening the cabinet to make it more beachy look. was wondering what color to paint brink and what kind of mirrors to get to replace these boring ones

was just wondering what others ideas would be to make this look better and have a more soothing feel.

I rather like it. A thin soft rug, the towels, will make it yours.

The floor is the odd one out for me.

in a perfect world you should be comprnsated for the errors. Always not the best plan to to not be on site during a build.

i agree with bpath.Add a pretty rug and towels. Live with it before making changes.

Bathrooms aren't kitchens, they are private spaces that you don't spend too much time in.

This bathroom is rustic, not spa like, but it’s still a nice space.

The additional info is helpful, thanks. There are already several features that stand out in the room. Adding fancier mirrors would be unnecessary piling on even more. I would simply add a nice bath rug and some blue towels to match the sinks. White towels are fine, too, of course.

The two photos make the stone at the end look totally different! Why two kinds of stone/brick? All one size would be simpler. But I don't mind the brick or the wood color and wouldn't try to recolor either of them. I don't think you're going to get to beachy from here, but I think it's a nice-looking bath. I'd love some sage or blue towels and rugs.

I’d feel inclined to cover up some of the brick, perhaps the large ones on the right of the vanity. Having 2 different sizes of bricks, plus those dominant floor tiles feels a bit heavy to me.

There is just too much brick, in my opinion. I don’t understand why there are different sizes of brick used. You could paint the large brick white and hang a very large piece of art there to break it up.

What happened to the color on the brick on the wall next to the toilet? It was the one thing that started to tie the floor to the rest of the room. Did you whitewash it? I see the mirrors were not in when the brick was more colorful, but are in when the brick is more white.

If you have not been messing with the color of the brick to make is all grey or white, and the color of those bricks is more like the first picture, you may want to look into whether or not the floor tiles are sealed or glazed before firing. If they are unsealed, unglazed clay tiles, you may be able to get some brick stain and change their color. This company in England does a great job with stain for brick from the pictures on their site. https://www.dyebrick.com. They also make a whitewashing kind of treatment if you want to continue to take all color from your surfaces.
