Is this a coleus or not?

I received cuttings of these two plants and the person told me that it is not actually a coleus. (I thought it was a coleus.) She said it was in the Amaranthus family.
Sometimes I bring cuttings to my horticultural society's plant display and need to know what genus this plant belongs to.
What about the plectranthus or solenostermon scutellarioides family? Does it belong there?
