Paint it all black and recover the seat pads with a patterned fabric. I'd replace the glass with clear glass, too. A glass fabricator could help you with that.

I’m not fond of mirrored tops. They seem very distracting, like the room is all broken up. A very small one , less so. You may experience it differently, though.

Show us how the dining room relates to the living room. What type of furnishings do you have in these rooms? They need to all play nice together.

Yes to painting black. I think you’ll need to determine finish type too. That is, satin or gloss. Save the decision on mirrored top until painting done. I think that decision depends on what the underside of table looks like - how it’s constructed. Might be a view best concealed. The chair seats - are they leather or vinyl? If leather & in good shape & the color works in your space they might go nicely with the black as is.

The glass center inserts can be replaced with large format porcelain tile. Then you can select one of the colors in the tile to spray the table and chairs.

If it helps, you can possibly remove the silvering from the back with paint stripper.

I helped a friend design an inlay to use to replace the glass in a dining table that was passed down from her grandmother. We used a wood herringbone - but you can do many different patters. We also thought about using tile - as suggested by Beverly. It just depends upon what you'd like the finally table to look like.

If you want your dining room to look more formal, Beverly's examples would would really well in place of the mirrored glass.

If it is a special dining set (as discussed in a comment above) - it would be better for you to sell it "as is" vs changing it. You should look for a maker's mark somewhere on the furniture in order to determine if the table set is something special.

Yes the mirror glass can be stripped from the back of the glass, but it appears your table might have bronze glass for starters. Once stripped you can paint the back of the glass any color you like or resilver the glass.

@jill graham I looked under the table and under the chairs and cannot find any manufacturer name. The only thing I have found is the following number: 3404-472-7-22 under the table. 3404-531-P.2-31 under the chairs without arms. 3404-521 P. 2-31 under the chairs with arms. The mirrors have the number: 2404-472-001-E. Also the mirrors are manufactured by Virginia Mirror Company May 31, 1982. Any help on the manufacturer would be greatly appreciated.
