How interesting! I have both in my garden as well, Dianela, and the color is pretty much the same but the size and form is different. Gabriel Oak is a larger, fuller, more complex bloom than Flamenco Rosita for me.

I'd say Gabriel is the lower one in the first picture and the further right ones in the second (or bottom ones if you take your hand as reference)

Gabriel Oak is very fragrant while lack of fragrance is Famencos only flaw in my garden. Gabriel oak has done well no spray compared to many Austin’s, he gets black spot but recovers with proper care without spray.

Hmm, my Flamenco hasn’t bloomed yet (just a tiny baby) so I don’t have that to compare with but I would have guessed the more lilac one with the barer center. My Gabriel doesn’t usually have fluffy centers like the two brighter pink blooms have.

Thank you all for playing. Your comments have confirmed my suspicions, their blooms are very similar in color and even resemble each other in form some times. My Gabriel oak is a very small plant so far while my Flamencos (3) are giant beast I have to prune like 3 times a year to keep them under 7 feet tall.

dianela, I didn't play as I don't have either of those roses, but I would have guessed the same as Cynthia. But you're saying it's the other way round? I love the look of the one with the darker centre, but scent is such a factor for me. I have thought lately of getting FR. Jen's (lilyfinch) pictures of it in her previous garden were wonderful. I discovered a few months ago that it's available here but I'd need to pull out one of my Teas to fit it. I've got a couple that aren't doing much but I'm giving them another summer. On the other hand, I'm getting too old to manage roses that get over 7'!

Hi Trish! Yes the one with the dark center is Flamenco Rosita. It really is a shame it isnt more fragrant because it is a wonderful rose. I can only imagine without prunning she should be at least a gorgeous 8x8 fountain shapped bush
