We’ve had both , SS & white cast iron (?) undermount, . I know probably 90% on here would recommend SS but I miss our white sink at our previous home. I’m very carefull ,it looked like new 16 years later when we sold. i think the SS requires more maintenance to look good . I’m sure they’ll be lots of comments saying the opposite. Get what YOU want, you’ll see negativereviews on both.

Thanks so much for this! White is what I really want. I’ve only ever had SS. I’ve just read so many complaints about chipping, cracking, rusting, etc. It’s making me crazy!
I’m pretty careful and tidy as well. We’re also recent empty nesters, so no more busy kids in the house.

I am so tired of Stainless Steel. I’ve had both sinks, for extended periods, and will choose white cast iron over SS for my impending kitchen updates. In my experience, cleaning either cast iron or SS requires the same energy and care, though different products. I’ve had cheap SS which is clearly the worst, but also very good quality SS and still requires the same amount of energy.

I changed to a white cast iron sink and love it! I don't think maintenance is more of a thing than how I treated my previous stainless, wiping clean and occasionally scrubbing with mild abrasive. Kohler Riverby. I only use one little rack type product, not a true workstation approach, so can't comment on the accessories.

Stainless steel is the industry leader for sinks because it’s always fine. Doesn’t chip or stain or discolor. Yes it scratches but we all accept it. 95% of my clients do ss and I never have a callback.

I've installed several white Elkay Quartz Luxe sinks for customers and haven't heard any complaints about staining. If you're a rinser, you won't have any problems.
