Should we use the same counter top and hardware as the kitchen?

We are creating a coffee bar/bar in this space. its separated by a wall. we have the same cabinets but are not sure how it would look with black hardware and a black countertop. we are also doing floating wood shelves. Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed!

Keep it ALL THE SAME and add a nice big piece of art.

The obsession with "coffee bars" does drive me a bit bats: )

If you want it "different"?

Buy a free standing storage buffet entirely different from all else. Add art. As whimsical as you like, or pick to suit you.

If you want different you have to BE COMPLETELY different

and no repeat of a kitchen drawer or door base. Maybe even a different wall color, as this appears to be in a mud hallway? If so..paint all the walls differently than the kitchen. We can't tell what you have going on from the very isolated pictures.

IMO still in the kitchen so the same and unless you have really pretty matching stuff forget the open shelving

I would match the kitchen or it will look like you ran out of material and just found something else you could fit there.

I wouldn't do open shelves either.

Open shelving looks messy and cluttered in real life. or it looks ”fake” filled with useless and unused ”stuff”

If you are matching the kitchen, get the coffee maker connected to your water line. Never have to fill again.

Going completely different looks beautiful too! I really don’t think there is a wrong answer here, accept if there is a dining table or cafe table to match the coffee console too.

Aince it's going to be the same cabinets and counter, in one option, consider removing the wall. Your counter looks like an easy seam. You can have space for coffee and one of the larger air fryer/convection ovens on a shelf. I see a small toaster oven in your picture.

The oven can be included without removing the wall.

With the wall separating, I like the idea of it being slightly different - more inviting. You can create a connection by using the same backsplash and stain shelving to match flooring.

The whole space should look completely different or the same otherwise it will look like you ran out of material.

If you want it to look different I'd get different cabinets and paint or paper the walls differently than the rest of the kitchen. If you are using the same cabinets and same wall color then use the same countertop and hardware.

I have never understood the point of a coffee station. It always reminds me of a Hampton Inn. Why not make coffee where the water source and trash already live? It is not must making the coffee but grinding the beans and wiping down the counter afterwards.

I do understand though why you would want to have extra cabinets and a counter there for storage. I'd keep all of my extra dishes and vases there.

You could choose to match the kitchen, or do something that compliments the colors you already have.
