What a lovely foyer! Your accessories on the chest are a bit underscaled. Try using something very tall on the left hand side of the chest. You might also be able to add some art on the wall as well.
As far as a tall plant goes - brown thumbs here - I'd go with a beautiful silk palm.

I think a round wood table with a large floral arrangement in the center and an accent chair would help mimic the shape of the curved wall to emphasis the space.

I agree with vjs12 about a round table in that area to play up the great feature of the curved wall. Not sure if you have enough space for an accent chair too but that would be nice also. Another idea might be a curved upholstered bench/settee in this area that plays up the curve.

I also like the idea of a round table in that corner. Depending on your style, you could place a burlap tablecloth and glass top over it for a casual, European look. If there is a plug-in on that wall, a good-sized statement lamp would not only look good, but would be useful for lighting the area for ambience.

What I don't know is how to do multiple pics for one comment, so if anyone can help us there, it would be greatly appreciated! When I have done multiple pics, only the first one gets pasted over and over, which makes me feel like a moron!
