Does this rug look wrong?

Does the scale/position of this rug look off? It’s a 2x3, and any rug that size won’t center on vanity. It’s a small guest bathroom and a 2x4 will run in front of toilet, which is kinda ick for me. I would plan on using a bath towel mat as needed for showers.

I love the rug and I’ll be pairing with a cotton/linen blend shower curtain for a little coastal farmhouse feel.

I also have only a can light above sink that I’d like to replace with a pendent light, any suggestions?

Any suggestions on a new mirror would also be appreciated.

Thank you!

I don't think that rug works with your tile. I'd go with a blue or green and make it small enough to align with the vanity.

You probably don't even need a rug in there; only a bath mat next to the shower.

I never see the benefit of rugs in bath other than the bath mat.
Except maybe if the in- front of sink area was very amenable to one, not in the way of paths, but for standing if you spend a lot of time barefoot. Even so, almost such rugs need to be easily Maxine wash& dry, non-slip backing, and feel good on bare feet. Which is surprisingly hard to find, especially in specific sizes I have wanted ( such as a longer mat beside a longer tub, or finding 2 of the right different sizes in the same color/ pattern.

So, do avoid cluttering up the floor with random bits of rug, especially a small bath.

I don't think it looks bad especially if you can add some of the rug color to other accessories. However, generally, when I find myself asking "Does this look bad together?" it's a clue that some of me thinks yes.

I also feel its the wrong size and color. And I agree it's not necessary there because of how small this room is.

You can pair the gray with a blueish/ gray. But…..i personally like gray and have two gray bathrooms! In one I use gray and white mats.

In the other I'm looking to incorporate blue.

I’ve seen that scalloped rug several times online. Cute but it doesn’t really work there. I think you're fine without one.

Is this a bathroom with a shower/bath tub? Is the floor slippery? I would only put a rug in there if you need it due to the tile being slippery when wet. Otherwise, I don't think you need one.

If you really need/want a rug, are you going to use an accent color in the bathroom (for example, will you be hanging some type of art on one of the walls)? I would find a rug that includes the accent color that you decide to use in the room (again, only if you need/really want a rug - otherwise, don't worry about adding one).

It looks like it fit in the space rotated 90 degrees.

I have never used a rug in a bathroom except for the fug when I get out of the bath and that one hangs on the side of tub after use Why have a rug at all one more thing to wash just mop up water spills so much easier .. As for that rug not at all a good choice for that white and gray bathroom .

    Looks thin and slippy.

Decided not to go with rug and just use a bath towel mat when needed, thank you for all of your thoughts:-)

I like a rug in front of the sink because it's nice to stand on. If you shower, then go to the sink for whatever, usually you are barefoot (or I am anyway). What about a 24" round rug? This is from Wayfair

    Or a 20" half moon

    Etsy has some 24" x 17"
