Rosemantic Pink question?

last modified: 2 years ago

Have I missed the discussion of Rosemantic Pink? One way or another please fill me in on this rose which at first study, looks to be promising. I'm looking for a short, under 30", upright, compact, black spot fighter, with large blooms. Thanks!

Moses, I dont have the pink but the fuchia and it has been clean . I noticed yesterday that it had gotten much taller than the specified height, but being in a warmer zone could be the difference. I hope someone with the pink chimes in

I think Sunny in Mississippi has this rose, ill let her know you are looking for info. I have the cream and love it, but it gets taller.

Fuchsia is new to me this year but I have loved it for health, bloom form, color, and repeat. It far exceeded expectations. Mine is not huge at this time as it's new. Hope to hear a comment about the pink.

I have red and think about taking it out all the time because it growns strangely with one tall cane putting out almost a witches broom of branches loaded with so many buds and blooms that the cane can’t support the weight. It also gets a lot of blackspot. I had thought I might remove it and replace it with Fuchsia but Palatine isn’t offering Fuchsia this year and none of the others merit a “healthy” designation on Palatines site.

I find the “healthy” and “very healthy” designations on Palatine to be a helpful guide. My mileage may vary with roses being less healthy in my garden, but I’ve never known the reverse to be true were roses are healthier than rated.

On hmf Rosemantic Pink gets some comments alongside the photos that it is healthy, very fragrant, and blooms are large.

Comments greatly appreciated. Still on the fence. For now, will see if it becomes both more popular and easily available.

Moses, I’m not sure if you like yellow roses, but I think you might enjoy 'Gold and Great':

It’s a small, very vigorous floribunda, disease-free, and blooms nonstop from the first year.

Moses my Rosemantic Pink has a fantastic, unique fragrance I have never sensed on another rose but can't quite describe it.. floral, sweet, but not fruity. Mine is recovering currently from a complete defoliation from blackspot. She was not sprayed at all this year. Her bloom is quite lovely in all stages, and I do adore the fragrance. She is also in a tough spot, near a corner of a fence. But still... I would not recommend her no-spray to someone in my area, but you know with microclimates and different conditions... she might be fantastic for you. If you want clean and fragrance, try Rosemantic Cream.

Ouch, defoliatiation! Rosemantic Cream, there are possibilities with this rose. Thanks for the tip. Will study up on it.
