Not everything got the message through

I cut these back several weeks ago and they’re back:

Even when things are winding down, there’s still plenty of beauty in our Fall gardens.

lindalana, your trees against the blue sky are glowing. And roses can always be counted on to give us some more blooms before everything declines.

debra, a shame the hummingbirds have left when they would have enjoyed that Agastache.

Hydrangea flowers turning pink with the cool nights.

Taken 10/22 These hostas are not sleeping yet.

Brunnera seedling from 'Looking Glass' that looks nothing like the parent but has huge leaves.

Like in most of our yards our hostas look like what you see here... Imagine my surprise when I spotted 'Sleeping Beauty' looking like this..

Yes, it's in a sheltered area and most around it are like the first picture but nonetheless, it's a sight for sore eyes, isn't it?

In the same area I also saw a Western Bleeding Heart still in bloom...

And I have an Echinacia called Dwarf Paradiso that's still in full flower.

But make no mistake, fall's here and winter's just around the corner.... However, it's also the time we start seeing the first signs of Hellebores budding up, like this 'Mahogany Snow' for example, it's usually in bloom by mid-December and it looks to be right on track.

Not to be outdone, there are signs of spring bulbs poking up, not planted deep enough I suspect....
