Appliance brands to steer away from?

Hi. Are their any appliance brands I should steer away from in my kitchen reno? I was told some have constant problems, some have difficutly getting replacement parts, etc. Anyone have opinions?

Any of the low end wannabe "pro style" brands are only for looks. If you want to actually use them, stick with mainstream brands that have a service person, and a history of customer service.

No personal experience, but my favorite appliance repair/restore guy says getting parts from LG is a nightmare. He rebuilds hundreds of machines a year, so I suspect he knows.

Nowadays it's better to choose the best individual appliance. Off the top avoid Viking for anything. Miele and Bosch are good for dishwashers. Bosch and Frigidaire for slide-in induction ranges. SubZero for a frig.

I had a repairman out for my 16 year old GE fridge yesterday— seal on freezer drawer was wonky and letting moisture in. First problem ever.

He recommendef avoiding Samsung fridges because the shelving/drawer systems are so complicated to remove for cleaning.
